Well the day STARTED out with lots of promise, decoys set Goose deaks on the hill behind the blind, Ducks and Robos in the marsh in front of it. Hot cup of coffee in hand waiting for 7:06 "The Magic Hour". Right on cue the clock struck GO the birds started buzzing the decoys and BANG a fat mallard hit the water. pump the action of my "beloved" P350 and...and ...and nothing the "Honeymoon was over, the guns first failure. I hit the slide release and pump again and again nothing. The slide was cycleing but when i squeezed the trigger NOTHING then I noticed it. The forearm had broken clean thru just behind where the slide arm attatched allowing the forearm to pump but not cycle the action, EXPERLITIVES%$&)(*$%##$&&^%%!
Fortunately, I am 5 minutes from home(love this place) into the pick up and Indy 500 to home grab my faithfull Ruger and back to the blind. The rest of the day was steady, groups of 1, 2 and 3 coming in as well as 3 Canads who were aparently set on not having to put up with another winter. They came in wings set 2 fell the 3rd made tracks but to my surprise circled back to the decoys giving me time to pop in 2 more shells and it joined its friends in the bag. After a couple oh hours of steady action there were 8 Fat mallards and 3 Canadas in the bag. NOW to see how Stoeger customer service/warantee department is to deal with. Will post further on that. All in all it was a great day, at least for waterfowl shooting and were else can you distroy a gun, go home for another and be back killing ducks again in under 1/2 hour.
