had very similar experience with a fox ... the coyote is playing imho, just like polar bears with huskys.

The first thing to consider when an animal such as a coyote, fox, or coon acts aggressively and totally out of character is, does it have rabies. I have seen similar situations where coyotes showed no fear, and even aggressively approached groups of humans and autopsies later proved they were suffering with rabies.

That's what happens when guys up north working feed them.

In ft. mac we had tame coyotes and foxes. The one fox would climb up the tracs on a dozer or jump up on the passenger side seat of a truck for a snack.

Kinda what I was thinken. Hung around a huntn camp and maybe got fed a bit. Looked like he was just clowning around a bit.
