Ive seen them sparing with one another you might want to try rattling a bit.

Nothing to push them to lower elevations yet. Height of land will still hold deer.

We just came back from the OK and all 5 of us got a buck each. We got them all up high. The goup could have taken more if we were allowed.

This was down low in some orchards, just driving through last weekend around vernon. Not anything huge but one was a nice 20" or so 3x4. Not sure about up high but from woodpile's reply it sounds like they are moving around in the upper elevations

Watched a real nice buck in the back country following 2 does with his head right up their ass last weekend. We would have thought this was fairly early had we not harvested bucks the last couple years doing the exact same thing. In 2010 the 4x4 we got on Oct 11th was one of the stinkiest and rutted up bucks we've ever shot.

my tactics for mule deer bucks is, find them walk up close enough to shoot it and then shoot it

the term "you get, what you are given" comes to mind, when hunting mulie bucks in region 8. i would not hold out for the big bucks.

park the quad and walk a couple of kilometers is my advice.

Haven't seen the big boys hanging with does yet and they are still where they were a month ago. If you're hunting openings/clearcuts, try first and last light. If you're hunting timbered fringes, take your time and glass. Might be a bit early for rattling, but you may wanna try raking trees and be patient.
