Looks about right. Shot a few calves between myself and my dad, always between 180-230 pounds on the hook.

Calves you have to send in a tooth right? Was it a Bull calf?

You just have to bring the lower jaw out with the carcass but you don't need to send them in anymore. Me thinks that is a female moose...

It looks more like a young cow than a calf..head shape seems mature compared to a calf..might just be the angle?

let's see a side angle pic of that head. Nose sure looks long for a 5 month old animal

No it was a cow calf and you have to keep the lower jaw with incisor teeth must accompany species licence.

It's definetly a cow calf as when I shot it the cow ran over and tried to get it up to it's feet. Also if you look at the video above the picture you'll see the whole animal in a single axle quad trailer and it fit inside of it.

Holy smokes!!! That thing is freakin huge. That calf makes the ones I shoot darned puny!!!

All calf moose I typically shoot are this big. Where the heck are you hunting these giants? Alaska?

A calf moose was shot tonight by some folks ahead of me on the road when I had the kids ... no bigger than the photo's below either.

Bull calf taken one year.

I think a lot of the prob is perspective of the pic. Jim looks like he is sitting down hill from it, and it is a big calf. So that way , it does look huge.
