Well spent the weekend hunting up the Brookemere way. Myself and 3 others didn't see much (couple of moose and some mulie does). So packed up up on Monday and I was the last to leave the site (I wasn't in a rush so it was 3pm). As is my habit I carry the '06 in the cab with me because you never know. Well this time it paid off, about 20 k before I hit pavement out pops a nice whitetail buck. Dog was in the front seat with me just flipping out i jumped out (shut the door to keep the dog in) slammed in my clip and got a good spine shot in him at around 80yards.

No rest when I got home !!!!!

And that is why I always pack a rifle in the bush during hunting season regardless of what I am doing - you just never know. Nice when the stars align themsleves isn't it??

mine is not a negitive comment, just a note about keeping the meat clean after you spend all the time and money going hunting, and wounder why you have a gamey tast and no one in the family likes it but you,, i worked in a slaughterhouse for over 10 years and see many things on here and read about how the family members dont like game meat, and its to not keeping it clean once skined and ready for the butcher, that was all, its a nice buck and you got a good deer there,, that was all not a negitivety,,just a comment...on what i saw..good luck..
