From what I have heard they are late all over the province. Just started seeing some action in the koots.

We just got back from 5-2d and had 2 moose draws and got skunked. We were there last year and say a lot of moose this time there was not even any fresh sign, did lots of hiking and calling betwwen a camp of 7 we saw two cows. Dont know whats up thinking its the weather we were even in shorts one day.

9 days in 3-41... Skunked.

Had 3 bulls within 200yards, some were responding to calls. Can't shoot when you can't see 10 feet into the bush :(. Going to wait two weeks when they're chasing the cows down the hills for another go.

Had one bull calling near camp around 4pm every day on the last 4 days, couldn't pinpoint him.

We had a successful LEH hunt in 3-32 during the first week of October and the rut was definitely on. We got our bull and when he came in he was grunting and slobbering so much it wasn't funny. Once we skinned him out I couldn't get that stinky hide out of my shop quick enough!

Moose rut the same time every year it is because of the lenght of day...... the amount of light exposure ....this ensures the calves are born with the best chance of survival in the spring. The only effect the weather has is where they are and how willing they are to move about.
