Not much of a story. Been hunting all weekend and except for some wind was fortunate to have cool weather. My dad got a good sized 3 point on Sat morning and after checking my trail cams regreted it as there were at least 4 better bucks in recent days..including 2 very big bucks. Last night after walking for a bit and seeing a lot of deer including a nice buck I didn't get a chance to get a good look at I set up for the last hour of light and not even 15 minutes later this guy..who wasn't on any of my cams walked out about a 100 yards away. One shot to the neck an it was over. He's a 6x7 still shedding velvet. Here's the pic....

I have trouble shooting bucks sometimes, and I have 20/20 vision. Can you share how you hammer these monster bucks with a blindfold on? ;)

Hell of a buck!

Was he a local?

Not a local actually...region 5. He was an old buck I think. Didn't have a lot of fat on him and wasn't as beefy as I would of expected. In fact my dads 3 point had 30 lbs on him. Would of been interesting in knowing his age. The bases are really thick on this guy and he has a lot of character. The velvet was in full rotting, peeling, smelly stage. I peeled off most of it and now have shiny white antlers....like the darker look better but not sure what I can do about it. He is still going on the fireplace!

Awesome buck, those bases look heavy, your hands barely go around them

A good taxi-man can make it fit your needs without it looking fake.

Nice buck! Good thing you obscured your identity, as many on this sight would be extremely jealous of such a large buck and may try to hang a lickin' on you.
