I went back home to 100 mile for a week for my leh moose. My draw was for 5-2A where i've hunted my whole life so I was looking forward to getting out and checking all my dad's old moose spots. Me and my one buddy spent a couple days in one area looking for a moose while my dad took my other friend out to try to get a buck. Turns out my dad was the one that ended up getting a nice 4 point.
They were out in an area that my dad has seen a couple average sized bucks around so he thought it would be a great opportunity to find my friend a buck. First day they went out all they ended up seeing was a cow moose, the second day they were out for a couple hours and went by one spot a couple times on the way to get a load of wood. On the way back my friend spotted a nice buck so out they went and before my friend had the gun up...BOOM. Another second and the buck would have been out of sight so he didn't want to miss the opportunity at a nice buck. My friend was excited to be apart of it.

Meanwhile during the first 3 days of my moose hunt we didn't see a single moose. Saw lots of deer including a couple little bucks and chased a few grouse around. So after doing lots of calling, walking, driving in one area, the next day I decided to get my dad to take me to a different spot that he knew about years ago.
My one friend had to go home so it was me, my dad, and my other friend (who was with my dad when he shot the buck). We parked the truck and started walking in when we saw this guy...

He trotted around and started to snort while crashing through the bush. I figured great now everything in the area will be gone. Seemed like we saw horse sign everywhere we went.
We continued on and got into the meadow where there was a big tree in the middle that used to have an old tree stand in it.

There wasn't much left of the treestand, just big branches to stand on and an old stick tied across in one direction for a gun rest. That was good enough for me so i climbed up and got comfortable.
