Finally got one for myself. Someone in our gang always manages to get one every year, but finally after 7 years I got to squeeze the trigger on one. Think it was worth the wait but hope I dont have to go another 7 years. Hunt took place west of Grande Prairie,AB. Sept.19, 08:00am. Was late getting to my stand and literally met each other on my gasline watch. Instead of taking a "chest on" shot, I waited until he'd had enough of me and turned to his right. One shot behind shoulder and he piled up at the treeline 10 yards away. Distance was 186 yards. Rifle is a Winchester 70 pre-war Super-Grade "custom" in .35 Whelen. Recovered the 225gr. TSX under hide on the offside. Retention was 100%!. Weight at butcher was 550 lbs. Notice I'm wearing my HuntingBC hat.
