i like hunting for douglas fir, not as common to find big dead stuff anymore. the buck was the icing on the cake! :)

yer Jelivis, like it's double the work ... had to drag that deer a long ways in a very messed up clear cut, now that was hard work, particularly after the firewood, man ... did i enjoy my beer when i got in.

Nice deer. Good thing you had your rifle with you especially since you just thought you were getting firewood.

actually, i always have my rifle with me when i get firewood ... just in-case ... for protection. we has a lot of cinnamon black bears out here, and they can be very bad a$$ when they want to be.

hi anytail .... jelvis, it's a 96 dodge 3500 dually 12v cummins, long box.

the firewood and hunting make a good combination for me, two crows with one stone sort of thing. i cut the wood in a area where i'm not hunting at around miday, and hunt the morning and evening. the firewood also helps with the ride and traction in the dually.

cheers

i get all the wood i need in the spring and let it season through our hot summer, this wood this time of year is extra as i like more than i need. i burn about 6-7 cords every winter .... also i can not resist seeing fir, fir is the gold out here ... ;)

cheers SS
