Put my camera out for three weeks on what I thought was a well-used game trail in the Squamish/Elaho River area, and this guy is all I have to show for it! Looks like he wandered by around 2 a.m., and the cam also caught the ass end of him leaving a few hours later. (Daylight shot just for reference).

I've since moved it elsewhere in the hopes of getting more pics.

Speaking of, it seems as if the Roosevelt Elk re-introduction program in the Squamish area is doing well. I saw a herd of eight or 10 a few weeks ago, and then two huge bulls just off the road this morning.

Here's an article about the program: LINK (http://www.squamishchief.com/article/20090619/SQUAMISH0101/306199979/1043/the-elk-are-back)

A friend just told me about two 5x5's around 20 mile that were tangled in barb wire and were put down by the CO and given to the natives...

Huh. Not today, I hope: The guys I saw were at least that big.

He told us yesterday. Apparantly they were filming some chainsaw reality show and the crew witnessed the elk being put down.
