My partner and I decided we would start to expand our hunting options and look abroad.
This was our first attempt with an outfitter and we very much enjoyed the experience.
We originally put a deposit on a 3 day antelope hunt in Montana with a price tag of $1400,full guided, accommodations, meals, ect, and it seemed very reasonable, but unfortunately we were not drawn.
The outfitter worked diligently to find us another package in Wyoming,$1700,fully guided, guranteed tag,but we were reasponsible for accommodations and meals.
None the less,we opted to take the package and so off we went.
We flew to Rapid City,South Dakota, rented a new pathfinder for our 4 hour journey to Sheridan Wyoming.
I recall how exciting it was as I spotted our 1st pronghorn on the drive, but little did we know, they were to be found everywhere.
We spotted better than 200 on our drive and we recognized the hunt would not be as difficult as we assumed.
It truly boils down to the trophy quality that one is seeking.
With our guide to pick us up at 7:00 the next morning,it was time for a couple rums and off to bed.
The morning again brought many a pronghorn spotted,we looking at better than 50 bucks and I picked the best of a group and #1 was on the ground.
I was thrilled and we pounded more ground with my buddy pulling the trigger a couple hours later.
3 day guided hunt done on day 1,but with the rental vehicle,we decided we would play tourist.
