Find a good food source, oat field, pipe line with lots of clover, this time of year they are on the move looking to fatten up before there hibernation. log blocks are good too as they hold lots of rotting wood, full of ants and other grubs, berry patch even better.....like I said food source.

x2, find the berries even tho its a bad year for berries, bears will be searching for food practically all day now, they have to fatten up

there have been heavy on the oregon grape as of late, still seeing the lower bears hanging around the rivers, since there still salmon in them.

These guys hit it right on..... but I'd consider waiting till spring if I were you. Fall bears are FAT and I find the meat quailty is down because of it. Spring bears are lean, usually prime coats and you won't spend all your time trimming fat off your carcass\hide. Just a thought.
