There are Grizz alot closer to Vancouver than we've been told about. Buddy of mine swears to have seen them hiking back beyond grouse mtn a few years ago and Squamish Natives tell me they see them quite often.

well there is no hunting from the north shore to squamish, watershed. I also believe that there was a program that introduced roosevelt elk to that watershed, so lots of game behind cypress and grouse mountain, there have been some clear-cutting in those areas also.

Saw one years back north of Harrison Lake. Scared the shit outta me. I came around a bend on an ATV , and it was in the road, staring me down. bad news for the black bears there. :-(

I have fished the upper Pitt on foot many times over the years. 2 years ago I was walking up a channel and saw what I thought were Grizz tracks but thought I was just misidentifying them but the more I think about it I am sure they were Grizzly tracks based ont he distance the claw marks were from the pads. Makes me wonder if I'll fish solo up there in the fall again.....I know what my wife is going to say when she see's this thread.

I saw one last year not too far from chilliwack lake. Across the valley, making its way across a slide. Pretty crazy. I never would have thought they were that close to home.

There are lots of grizzly in the mtns above/around the Nahatlatch lake chain which isn't all that far from the Pit river as an eagle flies so of course there are grizzlies there...
