This is my first mule deer, and 3rd deer to date. Not much of a story here. Sorry forgot to charge cell phone, or bring cam.
Got up early Sat morning, but too much ***in around and ended up in my spot way after sunrise. it was a rainy morning here in the east koots, days i usually end up seeing more animals. Had been seeing alot of mulies up in the spot i had picked and have kept going to since early summer, but not any 4 pts in 4 pt season. Anyways got to the burn, walked the usual route, pushed 4 does out in 1 area. kept going till i got to the other side of the hill then changed direction and headed to the top. The area is a burn with clusters of trees, above 6000 ft. Was keeping to the tree clusters, came around a set of them and i see antler. Chambered a round, he sees me, stands up and, BAM. drops on the spot. 20 yard shot. Got him in the spine, not on purpose, but he died in a minute or 2, so next time im gonna aim a little lower at 20. Took 2 trips to get him off the little mountain. Dont have much to compare him against but he was alot bigger bodied than the WTs ive shot(a doe and a 2 pt). I'm quite happy with him. Heres the pics.
