So.....here I am stuck in my tent in the pissing rain after a day on the mountain. Zero visibility most of the day as I sat and listened to bugling all around me Much to my surprise I have an internet feed to my blackberry up here

Comical I know but anyone who has spent countless hours weathered in your one man tent knows a fella wll do anything to keep the mind occupied. Hope everyone luck tomorrow. Let's hope for some dry weather in the SOutheast! .

Beats reading soup can labels to try and pass the time.

Do you have a set-up that will fit in a back pack?

Just finished a four day packpack trip in sh**t weather myself, .... 2 nights in a row had the sound of sweet music, elk music, around camp at night. Questioned myself about being camped too close to my hunting area.....
Gunner, stick it out. The rut is starting big time. Hope your efforts and patience pay off.
Good luck.

I would trade you Places but my wife would kill me. I'm stuck in the hospital, we had our third baby girl and my wife wants me to sleep here for the second night in a row. The only thing I hear is my little girl crying from time to time.

Good luck and I wish I was out there too.

Spent 48 hrs in the tent on sept long weekend while goat hunting. Did you guys know that there is a lot to learn by reading food labels, lots of good info on nutrition there. You can also read up on the correct way to care for your sleeping bag, also there is a nice family story on the Jack Link's Jerky package to keep you occupied!

So what are your plans? What do you hope to connect with? A real time hunt blog would be great to follow.

Poured rain all day here, today. Just said screw it, and went out anyway.. on the way back, in the fading light, we rounded a switchback coming down the mountain and a moose bolted out of the trees and tore down the road.

Couldn't tell, with the fog and last few minutes of legal light, if it was a spike bull or not. Weather's supposed to clear up tomorrow, but I've got an unexpected trip to Calgary planned, unless I can guiltily weasel out of it. :P Good luck on your future excursions!

Hey Gunner, I think I was on the opposite side of the hills last night. It sure rained! The quad ride got me soaked, then I spent the night listening to the rain fall on my tent as well! Called one in this morning, but not enough tines... Lol
