After getting our cows on the last morning of our 2 week hunt last year (http://www.huntingbc.ca/forum/showthread.php?55971-Last-minute-elk-times-two!&highlight=minute) , I headed out Thursday, having decided to look for one of the whitetail bucks we had passed on due to the heat (32 C!!!!!!) this year. We hadn't seen an elk yet in 10 days of hunting in that crappy hot weather, and Eastkoot was packing up camp while I did one last hunt.

Imagine my surprise when, in the last little opening I was going to hunt before heading home, this tastey morsel presented itself!

Is that rifle a Carl Gustaff or a Husqvarna? I have owned 3 CG's very accurate, pretty much the same gun as Husky's. Cheers

It's a Husqvarna in 300 Win Mag. A real tack driver and a pleasure to shoot. Every man should own a fine Euro-gun!

He spends too much time on the Internet researching arguments for HBC to find a bull.......
BTW, Pat, I like your taste in rifles. :D Husky all the way.

You got the provinces best meat trophy in my opinion, I have eaten most wild game and nothing has been anymore enjoyable and consistant as the cow elk we get. Congratulations and thanks for the picture.

Good one, baby killer!!!! :):)

That picture gets me salivating. Brings back memories of all the calf LEH tags we got in the late 80's. You can throw away the knife at the dinner table with that one, the meat will cut with a spoon.
