Elk in Hope?!

Hey guys, I was just wondering if anyone has seen any elk in the skagit valley area? I ask because I was poking around that area this past week, and found what looked to be elk droppings...and quite a bit! didnt get any pics but I was very surprised!

Yes there are Elk only 20 mins north of hope. We see them every year in there for the past 5 years. There are some big bulls running around this year but the area is never open to elk so we only watch and admire for now... If they ever open for elk.....

Have seen plenty of moose tracks and droppings in the Skagit, on the east side of the valley.

Found elk tracks once in there, near Ross Lake.

I too have seen what appeared to me to be elk or moose droppings. I was hiking the trail that goes to green drop lake and saw loads of the stuff. I have a pic somewhere, If I find it I'll post when at home.

There are small groups of elk from Hope onward all the way up to Merritt, but they can't be hunted unless you have a status card.

There's a herd that mills in Hanging valley between skagit and chwk lk. A friend also ran into a bull in nicklmine rd last fall dirt biking.. They're around

the elk in the skagit have been there for years, we used to see them all the time, used to be on the upper vedder river aswell, the natives took around 22 of them one severe winter and so it seem they never really made a major comeback since then. But now you know that they are still around.

If I recall there were Elk spotted in Abbotsord area last year too? Was in the paper. Seems like they are starting to spread through out bc more and more.

The Elk in Abbotsford- Langley was an escapee from the Vancouver Game Farm. They never did recover him as far as I know.

been seeing more and more elk in my alpine muley spots in reg 3, saw 8 this bow season

Might take a bit to find it,but a couple years back on flybc,someone had posted pics of a bull moose standing in the Skagit river before Ross lake,talked with a couple other fisher people who witnessed the same thing......Me,all i've seen are tracks...............
