As many of you know, my folks wandered up from Idaho to fish with me for a week. Had a REEL Blast, and managed to place a 40 pounder on the Leader Board in the company of my Best Fishing Buddy - PA!

The folks then wandered back home, and set about getting ready for a run to Wyoming. Mom's number was up again for another antelope tag, and although she already had a Book Entry or two with this species, they were headed off to find yet another "Biggie" to add to her collection.

Just a brief bio on Mom, she has the largest Mule Deer (actually the Largest Non-Typical mule deer EVER taken in Canada by a Woman!), the largest Elk, and largest Antelope in the Family Collection! Pretty tough when one of your main Competitors is your Mother!! http://fishbcforum.com/public/style_emoticons/default/lmao.gif

First day of their Wyoming hunt, M&P zeroed in on an excellent buck, made the stalk, and Mom pulled off one of her Awesome shots yet again!!

81 7/8 inches, well into Boone & Crockett's "Awards" category, and just shy of the ALL TIME Record Book category! AWESOME!!

Then, they loaded up, and left Wyoming directly to the fields of Saskatchewan. Mom no longer partakes so much in the hunt of geese, but Pa certainly does! He meets up with his crew of "Usual Suspects" most years just for that purpose. And, this was to be yet another Stellar year for them! They had loads of good Fun, and the hunting was about as good as it gets!!

Here's Pa with a mixed bag of Snows, Blues, Canadas and Specklebellies:

All in all a VERY Fine & Fun Fall! They are now back home, and sent these pix along. Thought I might share...

I grew up under the direct tutelage of these Fine Outdoors People. All of my Uncles and my Grandpa rounded that out, so outdoors living came right early, and developed very quickly. I am forever grateful they headed me in the right direction, and carry them with me on each and every foray out there!

Now well into their 70's, Ma & Pa continue to live as they always have. Enjoying each other, and the magnificent bounty Nature provides. Not only do I well understand just where I get it from, it seems I can have a reasonable expectation to carry it on for a considerably long time!
To MANY more Excellent Falls Folks!! http://fishbcforum.com/public/style_emoticons/default/BEERCHUG.gif

Cheers,
Matt

Or, was that 40lber caught a while back?

Nearly a month ago for that one. The mature springs are long gone for the season. Feeders still about, but not for me when it's Hunting Season!
