Creston Leadville and kid creek

How busy do you figure this area will be for the first week of oct. I see Leadville is closed from8km up. Before 8 km are there any spurs that you can gain elevation on before lacing up the boots and throwing a pack on? Are there more mulies than whities around this area?

I worked up in leadville crk about 10 yrs ago, Don't remember any spurs before the closure. Can't remember how far it was up the closure to the cuts in the backside (seem's it was a fair distance) but i did see some cannon mulie bucks in aug. The area along lower leadville and the goat river has alot of whities, But the bush is thicker than the jungles of Nam...lol...

Good mix of whities and mulies even up high. Good elk too. Be prepared for a long steep hike.
