Opening Day on the Coq

Hey all,

Thought I'd give a brief run-down on a quick trip up the Coquihalla Sunday. Went into the Caroline Mines area. Saw some decent sign..one particularly fresh set of droppings (probably Saturday night) and the nice big tracks you like to see along with them up near where a small rock slide blocks the road. But no deer to be seen. My buddy saw what he is pretty sure was a bobcat. He didn't get a great look at it and we couldn't find any good tracks when we went looking later. Pretty rare to see any of the cats so at least that was a hightlight. It was great just to get out there and be in the bush for a day, anyways.

Went up above the toll both and had an overnight-er. Saw 2 bucks and plenty of does, lots of grouse but they were only showing on the 9th. Have a few places to go when the 1st of Oct comes!!!

I also did a day trip up that way two Mondays back...........Me thinks things are goin to be good. 8-)
