View Full Version : Did my trail cam just miss an attack?? What is it you think??

While checking my trail cam vids from a friends ranch where I had it set up I was watching these 3 bucks interact. Right at the end their heads turn around and look at something. At first I didn't pay much attention to it but on second glance something is definately charging at the small buck which is behind the other 2. Unfortunately the vid ends before it picks up what it was. Anyone have an idea if this is a wolf or a cougar? The deer seemed to have disappeared from the area and a cougar has been seen there. I did not see a kill site where this would have happened. Wish the video would have kept on going...guessing whatever it was probably got a bite or more out of that little buck. Any guesses on what this was running at them??

Looks like a dog of some kind to me, hard to say though!

Tough to say!!

Could be another deer that was spooked by something, or it could be some sort of predator....

My first thought was it is another set of antlers judging by the height. I am doubtful the deer in the background would have been so relaxed if it was anything else. Great footage though. Looks like you will have your choice of deer this fall!

Looks too small to be another deer, I'm guessing cougar...tough to catch precisely.

Definately coming from the sky, Possibly a bird? Or a flying squirrel? Maybe even a Couger with a jet pack, or an Elephant with wings. I've heard of coyotes constructing catapults to launch one another at unsuspecting deer in region 3.
The possibilities are endless if you look away from the truth of it being a bird.

Way to small for a cougar, my vote is for a yote

Cool vid, Cyrus. Hard to tell, but I'd be surprise if a lone yote would just walk right into pouncing distance and then try to pull a surprise on that group of deer.

My guess is cat or bird.

Sure pounces cat-like. I don't see the bird when I slow it down ? Cant see a yote sneaking in that close without a deer noticing, unless...Wylie maybe. Meep Meep
