View Full Version : I want your meat! :) Chilliwack area
Hi there
I am looking for old, unwanted, freezer burnt meat, for my dogs.
We feed a totally raw diet and wild game is a rare treat!
I am more than willing to pick up in the Chilliwack/Rosedale area or farther if its a good haul ;). If you are not sure just msg me and I will let you know..
Open to anything except bear since it can contain the same parasite as pork but is not killed by freezing..
Meaty bones. Organs. Testicles. Trim.. Really anything that can walk run swim or fly :)
Thanks
Much appreciated!
Please :)

There have been numerous people ask for this already so you are a little late for some people but maybe somebody will have something for you soon. Good luck.
Thanks for the heads up!!
What time of year is the best.. For some reason I thought it was Sept..

I put up a post a while ago for some deer pepperoni and deer farmers sausage. The stuff it pretty bland. When I shoot a moose in a week or two from now it's all getting chucked to make room. If you want it it's yours. I'm in Chilliwack as well.
Thanks everybody for taking the time to reply to my inquiry.!!
Much appreciated..

Do you want bear meat?
Hi Camp Cook..
That is the one type of meat I cannot feed to the dogs unfortunately..
There is said to be a type of parasite found in bear meat that can't be killed with freezing and must be cooked..
Thanks so much for the offer though!

No problem... I don't eat it either and I don't have it in my freezer the huge pumpkin head is hanging out on the mtn behind my house if I had someone to give the meat too I would start hunting the old boy...

possibly in a couple weeks or so. will keep u in mind.
You can not feed raw deer or moose to dogs, they carry tapeworms that will only infect canines. All meat should be cooked, just like bear meat.
Thanks Cameron!!
We'd be very grateful!

I know you said you don't want bear, but I believe you can get it tested for trich. Might be worth looking into?

I've fed my dog all kinds of wild game, bear included. Never had an issue with any types of parasites from deer, moose or bear. If the meat don't look fit for me to eat, the dog won't get it either.
Good luck in your search.

Be careful with Bear meat. Apparently there is only one strain of trichinosis that can be killed by freezing, the rest are resistant and must be cooked away instead.

I sent you a message that I had 20lbs of trim a week ago but you never replied. As promised it went into the garbage this morning. Maybe state how much your looking for if 20lbs isn't good enough.

Always post up what you may have, it usually won't last long around here. For next time!!

Agreed! If I know about it I will hurry on over :)
So much hormone and chemical filled crap options but very rare to have "real" meat :)

Always check your spam/junk folder. I hadn't heard from a fr,iend in Ont. for few months and it turned out that his e-mails were going straight into the "junk".
Good point...
I have over 500 junk emails.. LOL but I have cleared them out and will await more :)

I have a decent amount of deer scrap (probably 5 big freezer bags of scraps and a small box of old chuck stakes). I live in langley if you're ever out this way. I do head out to chilliwack fairly often though to go fishing so maybe we could try and arrange something then. If you're out this way in the next week you could come by, if not, I'll try and get in touch with you before I head to the river next (Sunday maybe).

not trying to step on anyone's toes here, but if the two of you can't meet up for whatever reason, I'd be happy to pick that up from you in langley.
of course, the OP gets dibs on anything posted in this thread. just thought i'd offer in case you get to the point where you're thinking of tossing it out. :)

there should more consideration for the animals you hunt than someone's dog with a fussy tummy....maybe some should re-consider their motives for the hunt...leftover bison meat..now that's a damn shame.
What do you mean "fussy tummy".. ?
Its what they are meant to eat.. :)
But having said that of course humans can have first dibs... If its freezer burnt or the freezer shuts off for a time. or . or.. Why not let the dogs iron stomachs take care of it?
Thank all!

if that's what he's meant to eat then release him into the wild.... I wasn't going to comment, but I have too on this one! I feed my dog lots of game meat each year, Deer, Moose, or what ever I get, and with my walk in cooler, there's always lots of wild meat around! We keep the best cuts for our selves, and the trimmings go into one or two quart freezer bags for Coal, my big black dog! The big bones I cut up on the meat band saw for the dog too, whats wrong with that might I ask? We don't eat blood shot meat, nor do we eat the heads, assholes or the rind, that all go's for dog food. I fail to see any fault in this, most hunters, where possible, take the "Scraps" and throw them out on the nearest back road close to town, which attracts Bears, Coyotes, and other animals that eat meat. If I might ask Aggie, what do you do with the heads, hides, bones, assholes and blood shot meat? If you do eat them, let me know and I'll send you tons each fall on the Greyhound Sir!

I take most of the scraps back to where the deer came from....or close to it...I guess what I was trying to get across was if it's too easy for guys to take their delicious mulie shot in Dec. to the neighbours dog it's just not right...opinions are like the assholes you speak of....Merry Christmas to all you guys..and your dogs.
if that's what he's meant to eat then release him into the wild....
Same goes for the humans who eat it too I suppose ;)
But I do appreciate the response as it helps my thread stay bumped :)..
So far I have not gotten anyone giving away the good for human consumption meat..
I have gotten freezerburnt, or the carcass so we can remove the trim, as well as one time a freezer was shut off during a power outage.
Personally I think its a great way to keep meat from going to waste.. but to each their own ;)
Bump :) for hunting season! :)

I have some bear smokeys from last year that just didn't turn out. maybe about 16 or so?
I am likely passing through Chilliwack on Sunday on my way to Logan Lake to pick some reloading equipment and could add you to the list of folks to meet? Not sure the time of day yet though.
PM if you are around, or what times you'd be around otherwise I'll save them for another trip through.

I was at my buddy's dad's place dropping off a boat and trailer last night...his wife loves to feed and I love to eat so she made me a plate.....turns out it was a 3 year old elk steak (last pack in the freezer)...it was awesome.......as long as it is wrapped well it will still be good...the scraps/bones are a different story, they always go to the dogs....

Just ate 10 year old moose steaks..... No burn, no taint....fed some to a non Hunter and he was drooling over it.......I cut and wrap all my own meat and I get great longevity outta it, not the first time a pack or two has fallen to the bottom of the freezer and lived...

Guys you should really keep this polite and leave it to what the OP is asking for. Instead of you old righteous farts getting all fussed up about spoiling the meat, at least they're not buying beef from the superstore.
Come on, help a girl feed her dogs if you will, if not mind your own ****ing business you grumps!
Hey Gutpile! I tried to send you a message but it says your inbox is full;)
