unused hides

Hi again, I just got my hunting licence yesterday so definately a newbie. I was wondering what you do with a hide you don't plan on using. For example I hunt a black bear and don't have the money to get a taxidemist to do something with the hide what can you do with it? Can you sell it can you do some sort of home taxidermy? Thanks

Yes,I sell mine if I'm not going to get it done up.A guy central island buys all type of fur/hides.Bear,deer,elk,moose,etc.Small size bear in good shape will run about $60.Tag number,hunting licence etc all required.Not sure where you are,but most fur guys will buy.
