new hunter in lower mainland needing advise

Hey all. I'm new to this forum and to hunting. I just passed my core test and will be getting my licence ASAP. I have some friends I will be deer hunting with shortly but would like to get out and do some small game hunting. Where would be some good areas without going past Harrison. And what sort of game is abundant I would like grouse but from what I've read they aren't to abundant near by. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks

Google earth some of the hills between Harrison and Mission. There's plenty of roads and trails to explore. In around Hemlock was a good place when I started. Many of the other areas are too often frequented by dingbats.
