With the advent of these new phones which have internet capabilities one can download recorded game calls. With the volume turned up I would bet a dollar these can be used in the field to lure animals in. The million dollar question is ...Is it illegal to have recorded game calls downloaded on your phone in a hunting situation?

Page 18 of the regs states "it is unlawful to:
to use recorded or electronic calls to hunt
wildlife except wolf, coyote, cougar, lynx
or bobcat or any bird listed in Schedule C

To have them? No. But to use them yes, for most species.

read your regs ,

as to whether you can have them on your phone and not using them will be up to the COs (if they check or had reason to check your phone???

It is Illegal to use electronic calls on the majority of animals in this province. It is legal to buy and sell these same calls.
It's one of those rules that is next to impossible to enforce though as the chance of a CO catching you in the act are slim at best. At the end of the day it is up to us to follow the rules of our sport.
