just wondering if any one has done this road before. I got a goat draw in the area and do to over worked this summer never got a chance to go out and scout. was hoping to use the road as a starting point and hike in from there. my draw starts from just above birkenhead lake and goes to mcgillvray. i am leaving this thursday coming up.

Road is rough (washboard) at the moment, but usually no issue getting from Darcy over to Seton Portage. There is some Private land so watch where your hiking in and parking.

Make sure you pack a couple spare tires.

I have been over it a number of times in a truck and on a dirt bike, last time was a couple of years ago. The road is fine, abit narrow in spots but no problem, a two wheel vehicle would be fine unless there was snow or got real muddy. You can buy a T-shirt at the other end that says you survived the high line route. Only someone that never drives on dirt roads might be a little nervous. Just the same drive for the conditions and enjoy the beautiful view. Cheers Roscoe

Road is way better than it was in the 1980s!!! :)

Personally I wouldn't take 2 wheel drive. I'd like to have 4 if I needed it, especially on the hunting trip. Good luck.

Rough country and watch out for the hippies in the bushes. Harvest time is here I think.
