Quick question, can deer see red light? When I head out in the early hours of the morning and it is still pitch black can I use a small red LED light?
I have heard that they can't see the light but thought I would run it by some of the experts on this site.
thanks,
Andrew

What do deer see? (http://www.northcountrywhitetails.com/articles/whatdodeersee.htm)
In a nutshell deer have blue and green receptors (cones) so they have partial colour. They also have light sensitive receptors (rods) so they'll see the red light as white.
Red light doesn't kill your night vision...
