For those of you who want to build your own cooler in the Lower Mainland, there is a lot of FREE Zero-loc (6" expanded polystyrene foam with tin facing on either side) in slabs in the parking lot of Neova on Peardonville in Abbotsford. They are doing a plant expansion and are throwing it away.

If you grab enough out to make a fully enclosed room,(walls and roof and possibly floor) just cut a hole in the wall to the size of a freebie working fridge (Craigslist...). Place the fridge in the cut out so the interior of the fridge is open to the inside of your room and the backside of the fridge with the pumps etc is outside of the room. Run the fridge in it with the fridge and freezer doors open and you should have more than enough cooling with that insulation to hang an animal for a week.

We have a homebuilt ourselves and it has no problem keeping 2 moose and a few deer cool with a simple eggcooler for the refrigeration. You just need the thick insulation.

Don't know specifically about the ones at Neova, but ours are 4' x 8'. Seal all your joints with expanding polyurethane or whatever to keep the heat & bugs out.

Depending on your "handyman" abilities, they can be fastened together and DO NOT require a frame.

If you want an 8 x 8 x 8 room, you'll require 10 pcs (two for the roof). 10 pcs will fit in a full size truck box but the stack will be 60" tall, so you'll want to strap them down.

You can use a standard household window AC unit. That's what I did:http://www.huntingbc.ca/forum/showthread.php?37138-building-a-cooler/page3
