I guess what I'm wanting to ask, If you shoot grouse in any given area, and go back to that same spot the same or the next day, will new grouse have moved in? Or are they gone from that "neighborhood" ?

I found a nice spot and got a few grouse last weekend and don't know if its worth while heading back to my spot or some place new on my next trip out ? I know i couldn't have shot all the grouse in the area but will the 5 I did shoot be replaced with others ? Or will it be next season ?

Hunted grouse last year and never to the same place twice, just cause I like to
see new places.

Give them some time. They will be there if you go back, you just dont want to wipe them out.
My great uncle used to shoot coveys of Blues over two days, course that was when there were coveys of 30+ birds.
But generally yes a birdy place is a birdy place, keep them in mind.

If it is a good area for grouse, then it will remain so.

However, if I shot 5 in a small area, I would probably leave that spot alone for a while - maybe for the rest of the season. No sense ridding the area of all the breeders, there's still next year.

Thanks for the responses, they do help confirm some of my thoughts.
