2nd request for info on good locations for moose in the 5-02 MU (100-mile-house east to Canim Lake and north to Quesnel Lake). Never hunted the area before but have LEH for this month. Considering Horsefly area but open to any suggestion. Looking for meat rather than trophy.

If it's still quite warm and dry, look for areas that have some good elevation, say aroung 4500'. Your LEH has to be more specific than the whole region. There are four zones in that MU, zones A, B, C and D. Your LEH does not cover the whole region.

I didn't read that quite right, Stopped reading at Quesnel and never saw the lake.
So, bearing this mind, I think that the area south of east end of Horsefly Lake toward Crooked Lake should be a good bet.

Good thread. I'm also heading to 5-02 D for my moose. Never been there so I'm also curious about this region. Will find out in 10 days I guess.

Not sure how this fits your draw, but I have hunted around Tisdall Lake. It was very productive years ago. I'm sure others have been in there. Looks like that would be 5-02B

I'm goin for my leh moose in 5-02b from the 22nd of this month to the first. Any tips for 5-02b? Got skunked last year but then again we were up there from October 1st to the 10th. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

for 502b Tisdall Lake is a good bet on the back side of the lake. hunt the clear cuts first thing in the morning has been the most productive for us. Its been tough hunting in there the last time in took us 13 days to finally connect. good luck

We actually plan on camping at macintosh lakes lol same place we camp every year. One of the hunters in our group wants to deer hunt while I'm looking for a moose, so you guys have any insight into bucks in the area? Tips and tricks are always appreciated

hmmm Macintosh..has some great fishing this time of year..from Macintosh go around the corner to Rideau lake rd..hit some of the cut blocks away from the road..go through the first cutblocks and hit the second or third ones..further up Rideau Lake rd by the power line...head towards the highway...off the pwerline..

For moose the end of the east arm of Quesnel lake...

I'm taking my atv with me this time so I figure in the 8-10 days I'm there I should get my damn moose finally. We also plan on fishing to kill time during the day

pulled two moose outta 5-02 last year, one in 5-02 b and one in 5-02 c. there are lots of good spots just 50+ yards off the main roads. use google earth and print out copies for when your in field. there are lots of hidden little zones you just need to locate them and know how to get into them, lots of other guys that seemed to be only road hunting and had no luck. Who doesnt do their research prior to going will most likely end up skunked.
good luck great country, look for those swampy areas just off the main roads, the swamp donkeys are there!

The far end of Rideau lake rd got HAMMERED by logging..thousands of loads hauled out..some of the deactivated rds back into the 3rd or 4th landings...trucks cant get back there..ditch the bike and head into the tmber the 'swamp bucks" can get big and fat..first 1/2 hr in am they are out feeding in landings/cut blocks but for the rest of the day you gotta head back in there...

For moose that east arm of Quesnel kae has one of the 3 highest concentrations of moose East of the highway....but some great grizzlies also be careful///
