Just when our camp had awesome draws this year for the Klappan/ Spatsizi, the weather does not cooperate & sends our plans into termoil. The road and bridges washed out! What next - fly in i guess but we are not prepared for that this year. Plus the weather is the shits. I guess thats what happens when all of the eggs are in one basket. Back up plan. Whats that. We had our hearts set on this hunt. Now broken. We have about 10 days to regroup. Any suggestions from anyone would be greatly appreciated at this time. Still wanting to go way north. Atlin perhaps? Fort Nelson side? Spin the bottle on the map? H E L P. Will be going somewhere regardless. Time off work is booked.

Not to sound too gung ho, but why not just take the long route through fort nelson and watson lake? The highway problems are south of the spatsizi anyways and you are only looking at an additional 1000kms on your already 3200+ km round trip. 11 hours more at most (I just did the drive up the 97 and down the 37 last week... a day before the slides), just shift drive with your hunting partners.

Alternately, apparently there is a pilot car escorted trip up the 37 leaving 3 times daily and I know of a TON of black bears that like to hang out in the cut blocks between Meziadin and Last Frontier (Bell 2 lodge) that can help you pass the wait time :D

If you are still looking for some other northern ideas, pm me but if you already planned around this area there is no point in letting a little water and mud get in your way

I dont think its the Hwy that Fusion is worried about. Its the washouts on the Klappan. hopefully there is enough hunters that want to make this work and we can all get together to fix it :)

Ahh, good point... I was pulling through there earlier this month and figured it was just the highway that was the problem, just read about the klappan road washouts after you posted.
