Well I am finally here after 3 months I was transferred to PG to take over the local office and was supposed to be here in June but the guys they kept hiring to replace me kept quitting after one or two weeks, nice to finally get up here. Going for a drive south of Vanderhoof this weekend my youngest has a bull moose draw and I will be doing some scouting for our hunt later this month.

A few members extended me a welcome when they heard I was moving up here and offered to show me around and I would like to say it was very sociable of you and much appreciated and I look forward to meeting you.
Thanks

send me a private message, I was raised in PG, I hunted from fraser lk to mackenzie. If I know the region you are in I may be able to help you on a successful hunt. I know 7-10,7-11,7-12 better then most people know there backyards.

Hmmm....In that area, I'd be thinking buy sooner rather than later :)

If you need a good realtor that specializes in rural properties, let me know.

I know most of the areas around PG and quesnel pretty well if you need any help. I've worked in the bush up here for the last 7 years. anywhere between Cluculz lake and mcbride, and between bear lake and mcleese lake; chances are i've worked somewhere nearby.

Thats not a Bad area... Van Bien ... but you are in close prox to the 'Hood or the DMZ ... alot of nice older homes in that area .... the Rotary Hospice house is in there.

There is some nice properties always for sale on Clucutz, Ness/nukko lakes as well as Tabor

Prince George has nice winters, except when the pulp mill stinks out the town, but that is just sometimes.

Welcome Rick, My family and I just moved here ourselves in May of this year. We just bought a place up at the north end of the Hart.
Count me in if you guys are going for a beer. How bout tomorrow night? Friday the 23rd. Don't know any good places so someone will have
to suggest a place. We should do it, I don't know a soul in this town.
Peter

I'm from Vancouver but all of my family is up in pg, heading up for a wedding in mid-october and am trying to get a full week off for spike fork / calf in either 7/11 or 7/12 ( or anywhere around pg and vanderhoof) . If anyone has any advice for me I would be extremely grateful. I know you must all have your own gems and don't want to give them away, but I'm a novice hunter (this is my first season) and even a point in the right direction would be greatly appreciated!
thx

Just pick any main logging road and go deep. (Don't get lost). Buy the maps. Be prepared to spend a night or two in the bush just in case. Small axe and matches.
Most importantly,..AVOID catching the garder belt at all costs.

Pete_K, I live down North Kelly just out of the city limits. Pm me and we should try and get together for a beer around the fire one night. I know quad trails out here that you don't even have to fire your truck up in the morning to go hunting.

I'm totally down for beers sometime too. Don't know too many people in the area yet outside of my wife's family so it'd be nice to meet a few people for sure. Let me know if anything gets planned!

If anyone has a hard time finding my place the following steps will ensure your arrival

Step 1- Head in a easterly direction on Knoedler Rd.
Step 2- Maintain a speed of around 40 km an hour.
Step 3-( this is the most important step) When you see the stop sign ignore all temtations to step on the brakes and cross Louis Dr.
Step 4- Now you will find yourself in the ditch but only about 30 feet from my firepit so exit the vehicle come to the fire have a beer and when you are all calmed down we can all go back and assess the damage done to the vehicle.

For the thrill seekers out there increase the suggested speed in step 2 to around 80 km an hour and with we could possibly use what is left of your truck to sit on next to the fire.

I am looking forward to meeting those who pmed me last night for some good campfire bsing. I will have the fire going around 6 pm once again.

I will through this out there for all interested in coming over, Alot of us have families and sometimes it is hard to get away by yourself to meet up with people. I have two boys ages 6 and 9 and 5 acers of playroom so if anyone has children that would like to come over to play dress them up for outside and they are more than welcome also. Lastly my firepit is not gender biased and if your wife or girlfriend is into sitting around a fire and meeting new people they are also welcome. Just make sure to BYOC in case we run out of sitting room.
