Hey all,

I drew an antlerless elk for the month of October in 4 - 06, I have been trying to do some research on it. However from what I hear it's mostly ranch land? Below the 1100m mark. Anyone drawn this before? I am considering getting Liability insurance to put some farmers minds at ease before I start knocking on doors. My grandfather was told that may help our chances to get a shot at a cow elk (we both drew for October).

Hopefully going to take a drive down in a few weeks and poke around. Anything worth hunting for there if I made a weekend out of it?

Thanks

I got an elk draw for 7-2. I have had the same concerns. Have a look at the Outdoor Passport Program from the BCWF. It gives the private landowner free liability insurance when you are on their land. Have you looked into the outdoor passport from bcwf. It provides the property owner 1mil in liability and you 2 mil as a member....might be worth looking into.

I briefly read the thread on it, most people didn't seem like they were sold on the idea. It was just brought back up I think it's on the 2nd or 3rd page here.

Does anyone have any input on the passport program??

Another option i'm looking into is just joining the NFA, 5m liability

can be seen here: http://www.nfa.ca/nfa-insurance

Anyone?

Thanks
