Cranker Bull elk for my son

Sept 1 found my son & I in a popup blind on my property up north.there had been some good bulls on my trail cams till mid Aug .After thay had shed there velvit thay were gone .My son lives in victoria & only gets to hunt with me for few days a year so we were hoping to at lest get on some good bucks .We got to my cabin on the afternoon on the 1 ,after a short walk we found the elk were back . We set up the blind off one of the main trails & wated .After about2 hours there were some cow elk & white tails in my field but no bulls just befor dark 4 cows came down the trail with a big bull in tow. The boy started to shake ,&his eyeballs looked like thay were gona pop out of his head .I got him calmed down & in control of his breathing. When the bull was 25 yards in front of us he stuck an arrow in behind his front leg .The bull ran out in my field & was looking around for what had bitten him when he fell over . There was alot of yelling ,hugs & hy fives .He is 17 years old & cant wate for november long when he comes back for WT & mule deer. [The picks dident load for me ,I suck at computers & will get my bud to post them latter.]
