Anyone go out today on the Island? Grouse is officially open. Wonder what kind of season it will be?

I was out for a few hours after work today and didn't even see a hint of one but did find a deer skeleton....at least I got some exercise!

Went out this morning but the gate is closed into Mt. Sicker because of high fire hazard. Will try Copper Canyon on the weekend.

Got out yesterday, only saw 1 bird, flew off before I could get a shot at it. See all kinds of them when coming and going from work though.

Saw two Sootys on Gordon Main today (north of Port Renfrew on the Island.) Just got my CORE in the mail so I still have to get the resident number and the license. My girlfriend and I (and the dog) were both excited about fresh ditch chicken!

shooter and shooter jr and i were out scouting deer north of campbell river yesterday, no grouse some deer lots of bears weather hot.
