i was talking with a man who says that he hunts birds on the lower fraser river, but sometimes he hunts an area that is red on the fraser valley special area map http://www.env.gov.bc.ca/fw/wildlife/hunting/regulations/1012/docs/FVSAH2010.pdf
is this even legal? what are the rules for how far away you must be from buildings with a bow? because i am not really familiar with bow rules

He should be legal, the red area is a "no discharge of firearms" only rule. Not sure about the rules with regard bows and buildings.

Can only be done IF the municipality allows it.

Where I live, it's listed red but the phuckterd town doesn't permit hunting and I have no crops to protect.

so you have to phone each municipality individually? or is there a website with a list that would make it a lot easier?

Good Q.
But I don't have the answer. I only know what it's like in Langley.

It would be a Bylaw....

you can just google search the individual municipality bylaws that you want to search, there is no master list though, but would be a good idea

The town cannot regulate hunting only the province can do so. It can however regulate the discharge of firearms, bows, pelletguns etc. within its boundries. You would need to check their bylaws.

you cannot hunt within 100 meters of a church, school ,playground, regional district park, or dwelling.
