Hardly saw a one; no luck for me.
In fact my luck was so poor that a sharp rock punctured my left front tire.
... Check your spares before you go out, folks!
Dyb dyb dyb. Dob dob dob.

saw a nice ruffy the other day, she had a clutch with her still, they were pretty small [softball size], they could just fly, it was fun to see, more for next year.

I'm new to bow hunting, what points do you guys use for grouse? I got some Judo points the other day, good or bad choice?

Gotta couple in the Koots on our elk hunt.At 300 fps out of my SR-71 the arrow is prob in China now.Got one of them from about 10 feet and what a loud SMACK!!!A whole lot more fun than with a 22 or shotgun.$11 bucks a bird though so now I have to pick and choose the birds that have a good backstop$$$pics to follow when I have time.

My buddy managed to get 3 last weekend. One Blue, one Ruffy, and one Spruce. A tripple species header. We ate the thighs that night, then added my bunny with the breasts and made a delicious stew.
He broke one arrow, and lost another...

In my experience Judos are the worst head i have ever used for chickens, that goes for all our bowhunting group, will never use another Judo for a chicken ever!
seen way to many fly away after being hit, actually seen one fly away with the arrow still through it.
i use an old broadhead too, or the adder heads are awesome.

Tagged a couple ptarmigan with spruce arrows and hex heads. First time using the hex heads, they are great, my new go to small game head.

I like to use judo points- my arrows stay close to the animal after the shot and don't skip off into the sky and get lost if I miss.

I had success with these. They're like a shotgun shot. I shot one too high once, and decapitated the grouse. Any other points, and i'm searching for an arrow. This year, I'm trying the blunt point.

I shoot them with a judo and a fluflu out of my 300fps Hoyt. Have yet to lose a fluflu with a judo on it. I even just shot one in the air to see how far it would go. 100yards maybe.

Do you need the Fluflu's? I just bought some Judo's yesterday and can't wait to shoot some grouse with my bow, I just don't want to lose my arrows. Looks like a ton of fun.

we ran into a few. my 12 year old shot one with his new pearson side winder. It flew away with the arrow, but we caught up to it. too much fun.

i would reccommend using a fluflu. regular arrows travle very far with a judo point. ive lost a few in my years of shooting. Ive got one fluflu that i use regularly and ive also got one arrow with 12 fletches on it to help slow it down. 6 where 3 normally go and then another 6 3 inches below those. that works too but not nearly as well as the fluflu. $12 for a fluflu is worth the money.

Judo points are my favorite for shooting birds in rocky areas like alpines and roads. They stand up better than broadheads.

Rubber blunts work like a hot damn. Although I used a Rage on mine this year. Bought them for turkeys and it never panned out... Won't shoot anything bigger than a turkey with a Rage, and was surprised it passed through the grouse! lol
