Been hearing from a few people that since I am a first year hunter I am able to go out Sept 1st.

I also thought that only first year hunters under the age of 18 are allowed to go out.

Am I wrong? Can I go out September 1st and get a doe as well as a buck and another buck in a different region?

Nope. You are a regular Joe now.

Right on, thank you!

Wanted to know first instead of just going out, bagging, and finding out the hard way!

Cheers

Yessir, you are ineligible for hunting starting on the 1st unless you go out with a bow.

Nice choice of rifle btw, I have a stalker 30-06 myself :)

http://www.env.gov.bc.ca/fw/wildlife/hunting/regulations/. You may want to pick up a copy of the regulations. In the meantime, here's a link. Of you have a smartphone, you can get an app that puts the regs right on your phone. Pretty useful!

Depending on what region you are in.. Elk opens to everyone in 7b for certain MU's, but white-tails on the other hand have a youth only (under 18) season from sept 1 - 9.

The apps I referee to earlier for iPhones (and I assume other smartphones) can be found by searching both BC hunting and BC fishing through the app store. I have both of them which means the entire regulations synopsis are on my phone. Pretty useful!
