Throwing it out there into cyberspace for some feedback/debate. For all you 7mm mag shooters what is your favorite bullet that you would pack if you were hunting in an area for Elk/WT deer/Mule deer.

160 gr boattail. best bullet i have used in this gun for shots under 250 yards. the bullet really puts a hurt on animals if you screw up the shot and hit a little back like liver. and it holds together whell enough if you hit the shoulder. most of the animals i have shot have been good shots but i have hit deer in the shoulder and liver before and there was no issues with the bullet.

Buddy shoots the 150 grn barnes TSX and has had great results on some big bull elk, moose and some big mulies, has also taken other critters cleany at long range (longest was 542yds). Great all around bullet for this calibre IMO.

for my 7mm rem mag Parker Hale 1200 I only load 175 Nosler Partition or 162 Hornady, killed mooses and caribou cleanly with it. I did try some light tip, but not as accurate. Favor Nosler because is a good strong constructed bullet, but also since many years a go I had the opportunity to buy a large lot new in boxes for almost nothing.

have been using 154 sst's for the last little while with good results on black bear and they have a tighter group than the 160 accubonds did. I like the performance that the accubonds have had on moose and smaller game.

Barnes Triple X 160 gr. Excellent bullet can't say anything bad about it and I have great results with it.

I am not a reloader. Federal Premium in 160gr Nosler Partition have done the job more than adequately for me for years.

Hornady 154 SST. Shot 2 big black bears this spring one at 400+ yards and one at 125 yards and both never made it past the 25 yard range before dropping.

Just a guess , last time I fired a rifle 30 years ago I used Hornady 7mm 162 gn BT . If I remember correctly it had the best Ballistic Coefent (sp) of .684 the best of all hunting rounds . I may be wrong and certainly things have changed .

Don't get too into what everybody is shooting. Although it's good to hear what other are shooting, some bullets will shoot better than others in some guns. I have tried lots of ammo over the last few years and keep going back to Federal Premium Ammo, 160 Barnes Triple Shock. Takes em all down. I would get a bigger rifle if I am Grizzly hunting.

some rifles shoot better than orhers with the same rounds. i have the new xbolt tactical
an it shoots great with a barnes triple shock 160, but equally as well with what
i generaly use which is sierra game king boattails in 165 deadly acurate at 700yards with
it every time. another guy i shoot with has same rifle but stainless barrel an it hates
those barnes triple shocks..cant get a group together no matter what he does. but it does
like the sierras.
alot of good rounds out there you will find one that works best for you.
