What is the best bang for the buck in a laser range finder. Must be suitable for shorter ranges ie: archery or for hunting with a rifle. ARC would be great. Say in the $500 range give or take. What is everyone using out there?
Thanks Roscoe

I use a bushnell scout 1000 with arc and it works great. If i would buy another rangefinder i would buy a leupold rx1000 TBR with DNA. Better laser on sale for less than $450 at wholesale sports. Best rangefinder on the market is leica crf. The crf1000 will range a deer at 1000 yards, the crf1600 will range a deer at 1600 yards. By far the best laser. But does not have bow mode

I second the Bushnell Scout 1000 w ARC
One thing to remember is you need a tripod to range over 500yds. Which is kindof awkward.

I have an RX1000 and a Bushnell Elite 1600 ARC. The Leupold goes along when size/weight is a concern, otherwise the Bushnell. The Leupold is marginal at ranging past 600 yards, the 1600ARC is amazing, I've ranged trees at 1500y

Bushnell 1600 arc fusions 10 x 42 bino's Purchased in kelowna for 799.00 the cheapest i found anywhere in canada. They absolutely rock. ranged horses just over 1700 yards and small rocks over a 1000 has a bow mode and rifle mode. excellent in low light if you can afford the few extra bucks definitely worth it........

I have a Bushnell Elite 1500 with ARC .... I paid in the neighborhood of 4 for it a few years back .... works great .... when the batts are good .... if the batt is weak the best you will get out it is 3-4 hundy yards ... but I have ranged just under a 1000 with it no problems

I've had a couple different range finders over the years. My latest one is a Nikon, it has a magnification power of 8X - which I find a bit too much. It's hard to acquire a target that is closer than 20 yards because of the higher magnification and resulting narrower field of view.

I'd suggest that which ever one you get you keep it under 6X magnification and get the biggest possible objective aperture.

I just bought a Bushnell Legend 1200 with Arc because it is waterproof and it rains alot here on Vancouver Island. Otherwise I would have gone with the Legend 1000 to save some $.
