My dad and I are planning a fishing/hunting trip to the Mitchel River for the September long weekend. At work this week I've heard a rumour that the 3100 rd out of barkerville was washed out. Does any body know for sure? If we have to go around, hows the Hydraulic road out off quesnel?

Thanks.

It's still closed and I doubt it will be opened up anytime soon. K

You will have to go to McCleese Lake and over to Likely. Road was washed out about 21 to 26 km area, that's between Barkerville and the Cariboo River. Probably multiple slides. Check with MOF in Quesnel for the road status. When you find out, post it here.

yup..head out towards Keithley creek and turn right over the bridge and imediatly left onto the Cunningham pass rd..up towards Ghost Lake...access to Cariboo lake @ Ladies creek good campsite..good place to camp for moose hunters..head up the hill towards Maeford lake and then up the hill past Maeford lake towards Cunningham pass...hit the Z rd and turn down towards the North arm of Quesnel Lake..if ya know the trail you can hit the Mitchel river but not with a boat or anything dont know why you would want to head in there from this side???much easier from other side by boat...
