triple header week

So this week saw me taking my first wolf on the morning of the 17, then the evening of the 17 saw me taking a nice moose for the table. And well tonight wife and kids and myself went for a drive to look for a bear, 3 kills in a week, well 3 days....hhhmmmm could it be done. We went to a log block that we had been seeing some fresh sign and friends had seen a good bear but had never been quick enough. As we drove around corner of road into block, low and behold there was yogi! He was quick, gone like a fart in the wind, I was standing on burm seeing if I could see him, he came out and I called to wife to bring vid cam so we could try and get my first kill on vid. He was gone again, but we could here him playing in the back of a log pile, so we waited....and waited...and oh there he is, wishperd to wife to see if she had him in view, yes I do. So for the third time in 3 days the 308 barked and a 165gr accubond was on its way, and found its mark. The bear went about 15 yards after the shot, pretty wicked start to 2011 hunting season. Big thanks going out to my wife for the great footage and for my kids who were so quiet sitting in truck about 10 yards away.

it was about 15 yards give or take a yard. as for being picky, if the kids are with me if its a legal animal it goes down, the more I can expose them to the good stuff in life the better, they were with me for the moose and the bear, seen both kills. at ages 3,6,8 they are soaking up every bit and loving it. as do I.

Nicely done. Reminds me of a guy we met we called "Lucky Billy" since he had shot a moose, whitetail and bear all in two days up by Kamloops.

the only thing left open for me to hunt is rabbits, till sept 1 then elk, will wait till cow elk open in mid sept though, taste better, might hold off for a big ol bull this year as I have a cow elk draw for dec 1, between the moose and bear we have abit of meat, no point in over doing it, will shoot deer yet too, they get donated to the food bank, as will maybe half my elk.

Something looks a bit strange to me around the 23 second mark of your video. Can you explain to me why that is? Perhaps I am not seeing things that clearly.

you mean the black log that looks like the face of a cub...seen that in the video too, but let me assure you all in was a boar. he stood up just before we started filming and at that distance you could clearly see the belly, trust me I had a good look through binos, but I am glad to see someone else noticed it in the video. good eyes.

Thanks for clarification on the details of your bear kill, at no time did I ever question what you killed. I instead kept my question rather vague in the hopes you could explain what the video was showing. Which you have done.

However, no matter how many times I watch the video I am still confused by what I see somewhere between the 17 and 23 second mark on the video. I realize that video can be deceptive at times, especially with low quality res. As such I am not judging, but trying to point out the dangers of posting material that others may judge.
