Can anyone tell me if walker forest service road is washed out at km 35. I was heading in this weekend to have a look as my son drew a grizz tag. Any info would be good.
Thanks.

I know there used to be a sign at the highway saying it was but when I went in it was repaired... Just never took the sign down. This was quite a few years ago though. Hopefully someone has some more recent knowledge?

I was all the way into the end of the Walker in June - been alot of rain since then though, so unless someone's been there in the last couple weeks you'll be rollin' the dice. Good luck!

It was starting to wash out further down the road earlier in the year, where it runs right next to the Macgregor-this was a few weeks before high water. Not sure what it's like now. There was also a very ugly sinkhole on one corner that will end your trip and cost many dollars in truck repairs if you hit it!

Unless they fixed the road at KM 35 in the last 2 weeks...the road is gone. It was completely washed away.

The road into pass lake is out where you thought. I was up last saturday. There is an atv trail cut around the washout but it isnt easy. As well as having to winch through, you need about 150ft of rope to extend your winch line to the nearest tree. I am going to try this on the 27th, for a scouting trip.

I just came back from Pass Lake road about fifteen minutes ago. Its washed out at 25 km not 35. The atv trail looked pretty easy to me, the creek didn't have very much water going through it now. Not looking very good for 7-18 hunters this fall, a lot of atv miles :)

They are actually both washed out. The Walker Cr. Forest Rd @35 and the Pass Lake Rd @25.

MOF wants to fix the road and will if funding goes ahead to do so. Problem is it may not be until late fall. That is what I was told today.

Could you get the gps co-ordinates for the washout and pass them on? thanks.

didnt take coordinates but the Pass lake rd washout is a few km before the torpy turnoff (cant get to the torpy) and the wlaker fsr washout is just after the sande creek fsr turnoff, but the sande creek road is a mudhole.

You can quad around the washout on the pass lake rd now. An easier trail has been cut in. Should be a good gathering/party spot for hunters at the washout.
