A good electric fence may be more of a solution to protect your crop.

If you killed 15 bears you might have bigger problems than them ruining your crops, i would say a good fence :D

Do you need a permit to install an electric fence in a residential area?
Specified amps and volts?? Posted signs? Height and strand restrictions?

No...not legally. Some folks will say you are allowed to protect your crops and that is not true. I am a farmer and 2 years ago had a long (weeks) conversation with local CO's and the Ministry and this was the conclusion we came to. You can get a permit that our local CO was all good to sign off on but it was a ridicoulous procedure that I won't go into length about here.

Well you can call a CO and tell them about the problem, and then apply for permit (cost to you will be under $50) and i am sure we can find 14 hunters on this site to help you out… I said 14 because I am in

My friend owns a nursery in aldergrove, had to apply for one but it was for a couple of deers, had no problem getting the permit.

I know a guy who ate a bear he shot in early septmber in blue berry feilds he said they were extremly sweet.

can you hold on 2 more weeks. Have a bow and will be hunting in hope area anyways for blacktails? should be good for 1 down. My freind in hope would probably be in too. How many acres you have?
