Well went for a lil 5hr stroll today. Not that high of elevation but still a fair bit of snow. Alot of snow higher up still. Grass was just starting to sprout. Skunk cabbage just coming out. Green blueberries. North end of the meadow was loaded with bear scat where the grass was a couple inches higher then the south end. Bears will have some last season berries an fresh grass to eat thats forsure. Deer activity was at the same elevation. Still way to much snow on the top ridges of old growth. But the lower older growth has lots of deer activity.

It definately is. I was in this area about 3 weeks ago and was right at the top of the old growth. There was prolly 8-10ft of snow still. There wasn't a single deer track within a couple hundred ft of elevation.

Definately the weirdest summer I've ever seen here on the island as well. Normaly all the snow is gone above the 1000 meter mark by late June but there are still areas that a guy can't get to with his truck. Not complaining though. Sure makes it easier for working outside.

Oh yes I never complain about it not being to hot as I work outside.
