I am going to be working in Chetwynd for the next 2 1/2 months and am looking to try and find a elk. Will beworking up the Sukunka FSR towards the coal mine building a powerline. I do have a antlerless draw up here for Dec but would like to find a bull (if possible). I think it's mostly in 7-21. Any hints or farmer's that would like to disperse of an elk would be great. Any goodfishing holes on the rivers around here?

You might get lucky on a right of way (it happens to other guys I hear but not me so far) but I agree with other posts - you have to go into the bush after them and make them think you're an elk. "Running & gunning" is the best, most exciting hunting I've ever done!

Looking forward to seeing if I can find an elk of my own this fall in Chetwynd. Maybe a moose and a big ol' whitey too.

You're actually going to venture out of the Serengeti of the Interior??? Just Kidding Dana, Good luck out there, but leave one behind for me, if you go up before me. I'll do the same!

I'm going to be up there for the entire season working. Might not even get much time to hunt the Serengeti of the Interior this year. It will be a new adventure for me.

K.... seriously, trying to learn something from all this b***s, lets get back on topic!

My question is: 7:20 A drops down into 7:21, how far? Have a place at the very south east end of Lone Prarie Rd and plan on hunting all the way down to the Murray, where is the border of 7:20A and to confirm.... 7:20 A over rules they regs for 7:21????

Input appreciated, thanks lots!

the part included with 7-20a into 7-21 is near Ottah ridge, that probably wont help you much, I have detailed map "somewhere ???", where exactly I do not know for sure, if I can find it I will copy it and post it in my HBC photo gallery, other than that, contact the FtSt John MOE and maybe they can give a download of the detailed 7-20a area inclusive!

Thanks man, pretty sure the border of 7:20A is right around where we are staying, it seems to be the edge of the agricultural area.

Im planning to head out there on Oct 15 to take advantage of the Cow and 3 point plus elk. Plus moose is back in then also. I was in the area in mid August last year and came across a couple beautiful elk standing there. They were huge. one was 7x7 and 6x7... Perfect shot at about 300 yards... they didnt budge for a good 10 min. To bad there was no Elk season open :( I was there for only moose. Saw alot of cow moose but not to many bulls at the time... Long story short is I stayed there a week and came home empty handed... definatly lots of animals up in the area...

Now Im just wondering what time the rut is in the area for elk.... Is it going to be a little to late to expect good results at that time??? or should I be ok.. I dont want to come home empty handed again :(
