I have noticed that a few guys on here have been chatting about affordable spotting scopes and which one to buy. I just got the Vortex Nomad a couple days ago. I havn't hunted or scouted with it yet but will soon. I have used it just around town though and for the money WOW! I'm happy with it. As long as I don't look through any $5,000 scopes I think I will continue to happy with this one for a while! Anyone else got it? what do you think?

Eastkoot explain why please? I bought it yesterday going to glass with it tonight and i looked at some fields yesterday from like 10km away so i havent really judged it yet, but in low light it was clear at the lower magnifactions. I am impressed for only dropping $330 and $150 for a quality tripod. Sure it isnt a $3000 swaro or what have you but i am quite impressed with it... Congrats.

...in this price range it's tough to beat, ya theres better bla bla bla but for somebody on a tighter budget, this scope will do what you want and need
it to do. Money well spent if this is the price range that fits your pocket book. Lot of birdwatching forum reviews on the Vortex line of optics that like them alot.

haha i love comments like this on this site. Like I said, FOR THE MONEY so far i am impressed. I could read a highway sign the other day from well over a mile away. That got me fired up cause my bino's don't do that!

I bought a pair of Vortex Fury 10x42 binos last year of camofire and they are great especially at their price point. lots of rainy nasty days last year and never an issue. 1000- 2k on a spotting scope isnt going to make anything deader IMO.

I dont know if you should drive and look through a spotting scope at highway signs though.

I was able to count points on a bull and identify a small spike out of a herd today at roughly 1.5-2km away while scouting, im impressed as im sure you will be to

I've had mine for a couple of years and I'm very happy with it. Don't listen to the snobs telling you that only a Zeiss, Swaro or other Euro scope is a must have, you go hunt with what you got and enjoy yourself!
