good question. I've never seen a goat but Id guess a decent billy would have 75-125 pounds of hide/boneless meat????

My partner and I carried out a goat last year, I would be guessing it would be closer to 75lb....Peter

My guide and I carried one out last year and i was suprised how little meat they have. Lots of big bones and heavy hide. I'd guess 50 to 75 lbs for an animal. Also, If they tumble a long ways, go over a cliff and/or steep distance, the meat may be too bruised to take out.

Count on around 100lbs, de-boned with full, dry hide. Could be more if the hide is wet, but ring it out before packing if it is. This is on top of all of your other gear. One goat between two guys is a perfect way to go.

Goats vary a lot in size, a young goat can be under 50 pounds easily boned out, the goat in my avatar was 125 in my pack and about 100 in my friends with gear for a day hunt, full hide, and all the boned out meat.

I got a mature nanny a couple years ago that I boned out on site, took home (was worried it was going to be gamey) so trimmed it all up nice to make jerky...Weighed it before it went into the brine, was right around 20 lbs...Plus the trimmings, maybe 30-35 of meat....The hide/head were the big weight, as it was wet packing snow...It must have gone at least 50....

SO, in conclusion, between 90 and 120 lbs depending on much water the thing has soaked up...

20-30 lbs , you can carry easy de-boned goat in your backpack on top of your gear. If you want head and hide than it can be little tricky, easily another 20 lbs

The only Billy I ever shot I recovered the backstraps, tenderloins and fully de-boned quarters for a total of about 60 lbs. This goat was only 4-1/2 years old so I would estimate that a big mature Billy could net 100 lbs of meat.

I carried a pretty small billie out last summer by myself. I took the cape (don't know why), the head, and all the meat I could get. By the time I made it to the bottom it felt soooooo heavy! My pack would have weighed close to 100lbs all told including the rifle strapped on there!

I boned out a 12 1/2 year old billy, 3 quarters was 67 pounds at the butcher shop, the other quarter was pretty ruined. The backstraps were about 9 pounds. I would say I would have had another 20 pounds if I had the other quarter. I didn't weigh the hide, but I would guess about 30-32 pounds, including hooves. If your up high it is nice to have a good hunting partner along.

I'd say everybody that has the 60-70 lbs of deboned meat plus hide for an average billy (depends on shoulder cape or full mount) is right on, and I'd guess around 100 lbs with everything for a full day hunt is not out of the question.
