Aug 30 - We set off hiking to the first camp. I had 62lbs + my gun and my buddy had 46lbs + his gun, the weather was crappy and we did not see any game after 11km. So we decided to set up our camp and crashed for the night.
I woke up in the morning and we packed up and started hiking to the second camp, the trail was 6k of over grown game trail - now that was a tough hike. We got to camp around 5pm, I looked on the mountain and there he was! Sky lined, so I put the spoting scope on him and instantly I yelled "we found a ram" to my buddy. Wait a min 1,2,3,4, rams! All legal. In total there was 16 rams on the mountain, but the big guy I had my eye on was limping so instantly we named him "Limpy" they fed over to the other side of the mountain so we set up camp and went to bed.
I laid there thinking, how, where, and what, would be the plan to go after them in the morning? As my buddy was snoring away I tried sleeping but it wasnt happening. I kept looking at the clock. It was 4am and I still could not fall asleep - talk about being excited hey! lol I finaly passed out and was awaken by my buddy at 6:30. We got ready and quickly started hiking up a dryed up creek. Three hours later we were on top, glassing and circling the mountain. There were no rams to be seen. My buddy said lets go up and over from where we came from. I was 20ft from going over as I seen something move to my left (I still dont know how I noticed it so far away) so I pulled my binos out and seen four rams! We quickly made a plan to go over and drop down aways we would circle the mountain and put a stock on them. But we had a problem - we could only get 600 yards away without showing ourselves becouse of the position the rams were bedded. So we backtracked and dropped on the other side and tried a different plan. Now we were 400 yards away but two ews and a lamb were in the way, so we waited for them to feed of and moved in for the last few yards. There was a little hump that we were going to get to and try and take a better look. As we popped up for a look there were 11 rams staring at us 60 yards away. We did not move a mussle. We agreed on the middle ram and my buddy fired and the ram dropped in his tracks. Then all of the rams started running down the mountain and up the other side of the bowl. They stopped for a second and took a look back. We looked again and agreed on the third ram that was running I put my dial at 350 yards and fired and he rolled down in the bushes. Thats when the hugs and high fives were everywhere. We caped them and de-boned them, and set for camp. It took us three days to get back out. It was an awesome trip to say the least! the trip couldnt have gone any better. I have gone on two other hunts before and this was my first stone sheep. I finally got my trophy, I love it and I am so proud of it.
sorry for the spelling mistakes Im not a good writer lol
